While walking in Vermont one morning this week, I had a rest on a bench overlooking the sea and watched the sunrise. The morning air is chilly this time of the year and I snuggled up in my hoody and watched the colours of the day change from subtle tones to vibrant hues and I was reminded of the words in the gospel of John that says, "In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it".

Our Lord Jesus is our life and our light. Without Him life is full of despair and darkness, grey hopelessness and helplessness but in Him is life in abundance. Jesus does the impossible, the miraculous! He changes our hearts and in His light we see everything differently. His light brings colour and hope, warmth and joy. His light dispels the darkness and lies in our lives and reveals the truth to us. Just as the sun pushes back the night, so our Lord does in our hearts. May we never lose sight of our blessed Jesus, our Life, our Light, our Truth, our Way.

Thank you God for sending Jesus. Thank you Jesus that You came.

Holy Spirit won't you tell me more about that lovely Name.
